OPEN LETTER TO MR PRESIDENT BY THE ASIWAJU OF OKUN LAND, HE Rt. Hon. Clarence Olafemi

AN OPEN LETTER TO MR. PRESIDENT AND COMMANDER -IN-CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES GENERAL MOHAMMED BUHARI AND THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF KOGI STATE, ALH. YAHAYA BELLO-By The Asiwaju    OKUN LAND HE Rt Hon Clarence Olafemi.

My heart bleed when I read about the wicked marginalization of my people the Okun race in Kogi State, the third largest tribe of Kogi State and by extension the entire West Senatorial Area by the Federal Government of Nigeria with the shadow hand of the Kogi Government as alleged. Within one week four federal appointments were made from the federal government and the entire Appointments were in one senatorial area of the state- The Eastern Senatorial Area where we already have two major state appointments, the Deputy Governor and the 'powerful ' Chief of Staff . Those appointments for the avoidance of doubt are : The Hon. Minister slot for the State; The Residence Electoral Commissioner slot for Kogi; The COE/MD of National Development Bank and The Executive Director (Engineering ) of NTA. Our Central Senatorial area have the Two Ambassadorial slots for Kogi State in addition to producing the Governor with nothing at all for the west sensational area and by extension the the third largest Tribe -the Okuns . This is the worst distribution of positions that have ever becloud my people in any government since the creation of this state in 1991. It contradicts the spirit of Federal Character and negates the spirit of fairness, equity and justice. What is our sins as a people who gave our votes willingly to the ruling party and have one of the largest Human Resources in this country. Education and experience is our main industry in all fields of human endeavor.
I, have been receiving calls and bitter calls from my people, I have discussed extensively with the president of the Okun Development Association (ODA), I have consulted with both the political class and the technocrats in our land and as the Asiwaju of Okun land I have the moral responsibility to lay this injustice at the door step of both the state and federal powers that be to please reverse and correct this marginalization and imbalance in the federal appointments immediately, We as a people do not see the need for this hate. We also caution some provocative post on the social media by some section of the state who believe they are 'winning ' a none existing war that does not exist and can only fuel dis-unity in our state and brew mutual distrust .
Who ever doubt our ability to unite and defend our right politically will be under an illusion.
Long live Okun People
Long live Kogi State
Long live Nigeria

Signed
Asiwaju Clarence Olafemi.
